Course Description
This course will explore the effective use of learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools in education and corporate settings to organize, present and track engagement with online course materials. In addition, the course will provide demonstrations and practice opportunities using Canvas (LMS) and Articulate 360 (Suite of Authoring Tools). Best practices for instructional designers will be modeled by the instructors, as participants implement content development strategies to produce high-quality learning artifacts.

By the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- Differentiate between what learning management systems and authoring tools are and what they are used for.
- Explain essential course design strategies to create an effective online course.
- Demonstrate how to use a learning management system and authoring tool through real-world connected activities.
- Prepare a presentation and share work in a community learning environment.
