Course Description
In this course of the Instructional Design Certificate series, participants will explore how media and multimedia are used to enhance learning experiences. Participants will analyze, evaluate, and apply two essential guidelines for visual and multimedia designs: 1) Mayer's 12 Principles of Multimedia Learning, and 2) Williams' four basic design principles for non-designers (CARP). Learners will have the opportunity to demonstrate their competency through various hands-on multimedia projects that may serve as artifacts to showcase in their ID portfolio.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Evaluate the 12 Principles of Multimedia Learning in multimedia learning materials.
- Analyze CARP principles in visual designs.
- Create learning artifacts applying CARP and the Principles of Multimedia Learning.
